AAOIFI Recognised Trainer

 

The AAOIFI Education Board (AEB) has established the AAOIFI recognized trainer policy to acknowledge Islamic finance professionals (IFPs) who fulfill the eligibility criteria for the AAOIFI Master Trainer and the AAOIFI Associate Trainer titles, respectively.

The titles acknowledge that the recognized trainer possesses the academic credentials and professional expertise essential to conduct highly effective trainings on AAOIFI standards.

Categories of AAOIFI Recognised Trainer policy

The AAOIFI recognized trainer can be classified into either of the two categories:

  1. AAOIFI Master Trainer; and
  2. AAOIFI Associate Trainer, respectively.

The AAOIFI Master Trainer is the highest distinction an Islamic Finance Professional (IFP) can receive from AAOIFI as an AAOIFI trainer.

An IFP shall be recognized as either an AAOIFI Master Trainer or an AAOIFI Associate Trainer in a specified area of standard setting of AAOIFI which consists of five areas: Shari’ah, accounting, auditing, governance, and ethics. This indicates that the IFP must meet the eligibility criteria for each of the areas of standard setting separately.

Roles and responsibilities of AAOIFI recognised trainers

The AAOIFI recognized trainers must:

  1. conduct trainings on standards pertaining to their area(s) of standard-setting in their own capacity, on behalf of AAOIFI, or on behalf of any other external party, which may be offered for free or against a fee;
  2. write articles or papers on relevant topics to assist other Islamic finance professionals understand the key requirements of the standards and enabling the correct implementation of those standards;
  3. contribute to the development of new standards by joining the working group or providing feedback on the exposure draft;
  4. contribute to the development and / or review of the CIPA and CSAA curriculum and question bank; and
  5. advocate for the adoption of AAOIFI standards and capacity building programs.
